We've been through a rainbow of colors for refrigerators over the past 50 years and I think most people have settled on either stainless or white. Both are safe and never dated. I think that is why stainless continues to be popular - people remember how dated their kitchen looked with that avacado or harvest gold appliances!

Yes, that is true, color trends come and go. Stainless is neutral and goes with most kitchen color schemes. White does too I suppose, but not so much with dark wood cabinets. Still, it would be nice to have a few other options. My old appliances still work, but they are bisque. Actually, I like the bisque color, it goes well with my light maple cabinets. But, since it is being phased out, I'll have to change it when they die. Although I like stainless, the fingerprints and water spots are not something I am thrilled about. I like the slate a lot, although that color is limited to GE and Samsung I believe. It would be nice if all manufacturers would have the same colors to choose from.
