The Lowes sans had really shallow roots for being in an almost 2 gallon pot. Potted them up in two pots, one plant was separate from the other.

I love your pots; so colorful and cheery and bright! The vast majority of my plants are in clay, but I'm thinking of trying plastic in the near future.

Thanks Katrina. I get them in Lowes and Homedepot, they are on a metal stand out in the garden center. They have a lot of different sizes and each store has slighty different colors. They are self watering but I pop out the little holes on the bottom with a phillips head screwdriver so they drain.

You certainly have colorful pots. Most of my sans are in clay pots. I like the way they don't retain too much moisture. I've had a bit of soggy roots in the past. But the bigger pots do get heavy when lugging them in and out for the summer and winter!

Ohhh, I know exactly what you're talking about. I've picked them up and put them back to stick with the clay pots. I'll give one a try with a sans I have a few of and keep an eye on it. If I remember right they're just a few bucks too.

Enterotoxigengic and Katrina, I used to always use clay pots. I don't know if it's the way I water but my sans have done better since I switched to plastic.

I've read that plastic retains moisture and clay dries out quicker, so I started with clay so as not to kill em with kindness. I've painted some to dress em up, but you can't beat those bright colors.

In the few that are still in their store plastic, before watering I find I can just lift the pot to check the weight. That's a plus.

Mary, I bid on Ebay many times. Most times I am lucky. I don't bid till the last few minuets. Don't want to start a bidding war and bring the price up. Good luck. I got one Coppertone to trade (very small pup with no roots) but it's got Rockdale's name on it. Waiting for signs of new growth.

I saw that Loop's Pride. Looks small and with shipping, not worth it. I just won a Haworthia Pumila on the other Ebay site. Waited till the last min. and there was only 1 bid. I felt sorry for who I stole it from. Came with rotted roots but top was excellent. That happens and it will grow back new roots soon.

It can't go any higher anyway; broke teacher on Summer vacation,hahaha!

I'll have to look up to see what that was you won, I don't recognize the name...

Now I know what it is Stush; one of the orders I received last week contained one of those as a gift and I had no idea what to do with it so I potted it in some cactus soil. It's the kind that has a lot of colors...

Barb, There is a offshoot of this 'Pumila called 'Donuts' because the dot's are circles. Too expensive for me right now.

Sans grow well in water. Weird or what ?

So this morning I was out and about in town with hubby. We had to visit BBS to look for motion detectors, paint, and such. I took this as an invite to see if the stores got any new sans. What I saw saddened me. Lowes has several large black robustas. But each pot full was affected/infected with large weepy blisters. Dropped them like a hot potato. Oh well. Oh dear. we had to go to Home Depot because Lowes did not have the paint needed. Wow oh wow there was a pallet full of sans....not that I need anymore. Yep, every Eve and Whitney was also covered in wet blisters. This makes the third store up here that has affected sans.

I always wonder how they get so bad so quickly. It seems as though some are delivered that way. I've been watching 1 particular WM sans for at least a month. They refuse to mark it down or cut the leaf off. What started off as a small blister has taken over almost the entire leaf.
