You can root your bella in whatever medium you use without the need for rooting hormone. Unless it's a super porous mix that doesn't hold moisture well, then I'd think you might need some hormone. Either way, you can get the plant in some potting medium to get it in the mood to root, then pull it out and apply hormone when you get some. I wouldn't wait too long, though.

I put in a little pot with some wet soil for now. On Wednesday I'll do the tug test. If it roots great, if not I will get some rooting hormone. I am in love with my Hoya finlaysonii and I love the leaves.
