Check your typo....:). Are the upper Windows missing or are they black? That is what jumps out at me first. They must be painted or something that adds color. Your front door and sidelights need to be a nice color. I would take out the foundation plantings and get a professional plan for starting over. The right plants will also add some much needed color.t

i would investigate some type of covering or rails for the entry. It should have something to make it more pronounced. Attractive window treatments will be good, too. They should look good from the outside as well as inside. IMO fabric treatments look much better than shades/blinds.

Get rid of the shutters and some good landscaping would go a long way to improve the look the black hole windows do nothing except make it feel like a haunted house.A nice welcoming walkway from the road is always a nice addition a double door and a portico will be good and I agree get a good designer to help NO SHUTTERS

Who would I go to, to get a drawing of what my ideas and everyone suggestions are for a visual? They are black screens that are being removed hoping for a new door soon was thinking double instead of sidelights

I'd find a local Architect, if you are serious about improvement.

And I reinforce previous comments -- no shutters, and fix the black hole windows, and landscape.

Go to an architect. Bring lots of pictures that have some elements you like. Perhaps drive around town if your home is featured in other neighborhoods. Even stop by a realtor to see if your house design is in the area- drive by- check out their landscaping, paint, roof, Windows etc.

That upstairs window is so big that you could make it a French window with a Juliet balcony. I am not sure how that would look so close to the entrance though.

The cedar shutters sound nice but only for the smaller windows. The double window is simply too large to look right with shutters. The shutters should be half the size of the window opening for the smaller windows.

A door to match the new shutters would be nice.

Buy the widest door you can afford, instead of sidelights.

Your house has a traditional look now. I cannot visualize a conversion to rustic. Do you have any inspiration pictures of the look you're going for?

the house looks large and majestic but the landscaping is almost nonexistent. If you invested money in some decent landscaping I think you'd be surprised at how much better it looked.

I will post a current picture but these were my thoughts I just can't visualize them all together would love to get it to paper to see what it would look like before committing...black screens off-rails across slab and down steps-new front door (possibly double doors) some type of covering as seen below but not sure what will look best and cedar shutters I would love to paint the bricks here are some of the inspiration pics i like but not sure how to make it work..

Thanks. I have a better idea of what your goals are now. It might work but a pro would be better at addressing that. Are you going to put shutters on the second story Windows?

Didn't plan on it planed on open shutters on both small windows and closed shutters on large garage window maybe cedar flower boxes too???
