Blue would look lovely.

You simply need a starting point. Are you keeping the rug? If replacing the rug, or keeping the current rug, pick your colors from the rug...a neutral for the walls, with maybe a darker version of that color on the trim. Next, select your bedding. Many will choose the bedding before the wall color. But by using the current rug, a new rug, or even a fabric you want to use on the two chairs, take your colors from them.

Pick your bedding first. Paint is much easier to match to bedding than the other way around. RH sage? How would that look with your rug? Can you show a close up of the rug?

Thanks for the comments. The coverlet on the bed is a light blue Frette, so I'd prefer to not buy new bed linens as my husband would kill me! We just bought the rug to go in the room, so that is staying as well. Here's a better picture of it. It has some greens and teals. The pillows on the chairs are an orange/gray pattern from Lacefield Designs. Ideally, I would prefer to not purchase new bedding/pillows as this 94 year old "new" house is costing us a fortune to fix up! Guess that's part of the charm? Ha!

Pretty colors in the rug. The sage bedding looks like a perfect match but I get what you're saying. Go with a paler version of the aqua/sage/blue from the center of the rug. You might need to get several tester sizes of different colors to get a good match.

Roman shades are a good choice. Try to find material with the same background as the walls.

IMO drapes would be a much nicer choice than roman shades with your elegant furniture you need much larger scaled lamps , I think the blue of the coverlet would be very prety with faux silk drapes in a cream and blue stripe

I originally bought eggshell curtains, but given the lack of space between the headboard and the window on the left side, I didn't think there would be enough room. Would this look too busy? Would definitely prefer the curtains!

As for the lamps, ah yes. They are much undersized. These were a bachelor purchase by my husband form RH and he was so proud of himself for buying lamps that I couldn't tell him they don't work in the space :-) hoping that it has been long enough now to where he wouldn't get upset if I replace them.

Resolve the window covering before you choose a wall color. I think you should keep hubby's lamps, just because he bought them. It is a beautiful room, even with the pink walls.

I think on that window you could pull them to one side with a tie back but because that window keeps that wall area from being symmetrical why not just move the bed over a bit
