My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

NASTY OLD FIRE-PIT TURNED INTO A ROCK GARDEN

I purchased an old fire-pit/mosquito-water-collector at a garage sale (that I never used, not even once) that was just rotting and collecting water on my patio. Instead of throwing it out, I scrubbed most of the rust off and hammered some drainage holes into the metal tray... and VOILA! The cutest little rock garden! :)

I sifted and blended a mix of decomposed granite/oil dry/fine bark/perlite.


I have since amended the soil with a layer of granite as top dressing... for some reason it stays way cooler than pea gravel or river rock.
