Too late to seed my backyard for a lawn? Putting in my irrigation took about 2 months longer than I thought it would.

What is your location? Normally here in AZ we reframe from planting anything this time of year unless you live in Flagg or Payson. Your seeds will dry out too fast, you will be out there every hour sprinkling. I would wait maybe Oct. and that depends on your location

I'm in Gilbert. I was afraid of that. Anyone have any ideas? There is no way my wife will let me have a dirt backyard till step/oct

Well there is always sod but you will have to water it a lot. Maybe some one else has an idea.

I've seen artificial grass look really nice at some people's houses, even after many years of sun beating on it. I think if I wanted an area that looked like a lawn, I'd do that.
