Those reviews on Amazon are from the ignorance is bliss crowd because not one of them measured the actual power consumption with a Kill A Watt meter. Typically, the rated wattages of red and blue E27 spotlights made in China are overrated by 500%. I expect that the true power consumption of that lamp is about 5 watts. Let's say that the actual power consumption is 5 watts. Then 23/5 ~= 5 of those lamps is better than one 23 watt CFL, but, otherwise, no.

And, you can find a lower price for the same lamp on Ebay.

If I were you, I would use three 8W BR30 LED lamps that can be bought on sale for about $2.50 each at Menards.

My view is: good quality LEDs are expensive. If you can't, or don;t want to, spend the money, you're probably better off just going with fluorescent light for now. That's what I'm doing anyway, until I can afford to get a quality LED light.
