Finally getting more than just Belle Isle Sentry which was extra early!

Gadsden Goliath is going to have a banner year--lots of branching, started out with 3 perfect blooms.

You Angel You. Only 2 buds--never does well and I blurred the picture.

Siloam Plum Tree. I decided to get rid of it. I dug up a bunch of orange "ditch" daylilies and put it and a couple others there in horrible orange clay dirt, and it is going to have its best year in many a year. Go figure it.

Isolde, after the sun wilted it.

Amethyst Art. My best double [one of a very few by choice]-nice and neat layers and unfazed by the sun.

Orange Oriental lilies in full swing. They are so bright and beautiful--the picture doesn't do them justice--too yellow and faded, so I put a better picture from last year.

Siloam Plum Tree is very pretty, isn't that just like a daylily! They often know when you are thinking of getting rid of them, & then give a great bloom season so you hold on to them. I understand that clay soil is really quite fertile, just heavy. You wouldn't think the daylily would like it too well though. Gadsden seems to be taking a year off hear, it has some blooms but don't look too good. Yours seems to be picking up the slack from mine.

Day lilies are like that. It is thumbing its non-existant nose at you. I have dug up lilies to get rid of them several times without success. Helix has returned twice!

I find that daylilies grow best in virgin soil (never had daylilies before). Was that the case with your Plum Tree? The pictures of the orientals over two years hardly look like the same variety. Perhaps the lighting conditions were different. I know too that, for a while, we had such hot weather that colors were bleached out.

You Angel You never did much for me. I think it went on the compost last year. I won't give them a second chance like you do.

Looks like Siloam Plum Tree is saying" take this!" Glad it's doing well now. I'm not crazy about fussy doubles either, Brad. Nice to see your season under way.

Siloam Plum Tree is such a nice dark one. I guess it likes that orange clay! Your orange Asiatic lilies are beautiful!

Thanks for all the nice comments.

Dick: this is the end for You Angel You. I need the space. I am learning to get rid of them quicker than I used too.

Mantis: yes, it was the lighting. They actually looked like last years picture.
