Here is what I have already. Only three varieties and all with soft sterns. Completely fall down after heavy rain even with good supporting system. That's why I'd like to try something little bit better stand up.

Some peonies with sturdy stems that I have grown are Mackinac Grand, Joker, Scarlet O'Hara, and Krinkled White. Itoh peonies, a cross between Tree and Herbaceous peony have very sturdy stems.

You have plenty of time before fall planting to decide what you should add to your collection. Do you like the big doubles best or the singles? Do you have a color palette in mind? When you're looking a peonies pay attention to the ones that have a Landscaper designation--this means that they have strong stems. Karen's recommendations are good, particularly like Joker.

Thank you for recommendations. Yep, I know itoh peonies has strong stern. But what I'm looking for is Herbaceous peony only at this moment. Because my local nurseries carries much more tradition plants than Iton.

I don't have plenty time ahead since most nursery clean out their bare roots now, and get rid off all potted stuff around sometime in July. I like double (rose, hundred proliferate, golden circle, etc) in general, but single as Japanese also attract my attention very much.

Colour wise, prefer dark and deep colour such as magenta, red and black. But also interested in multi and coral. Will keep in mind for Landscaper designation. Thank you so much!

Henry Bockstoce is a beautiful double red with very thick strong stems.
