Yes, they certainly are out in force. I'd had two land right on my hand within 60 seconds of walking out the door this morning. I killed them both. We have ponds, creeks, huge puddles from the rain, etc. so all the mosquito dunks in the world don't help us much, other than keeping the population down close to the house. Mosquitoes can fly up to a mile, so even if you are using dunks like crazy, they can just fly in from somewhere else. Maybe we'll get hot and dry quickly now that June's heat has arrived and maybe that will make the skeeter population go away. I bet I saw more mosquitoes today than I did in the whole month of May, and I wasn't even outside for the whole day, only for about half of it.

My husband heard on the news that they did mosquito tests in Oklahoma County and out of about 12 tests, 5 came back positive for West Nile Virus. What I really can't believe is where I'm at (NW OK) we do not have any mosquitos in our yard. It's weird as much rain as we've had. But I'm not bitching lol

I kill so many mosquitoes after they land on me every time that I go outside, that I have little splotches of blood from them on my arms....not to mention little mosquito carcasses that I have to brush off my body after smashing them. It is disgusting. I hate them and they are here in large numbers. We had a ton of rain a few days ago and the minor mosquito population we already had suddenly became a major population.

It is easy to kill them early in the morning because they are hanging out near the back door when we go outside first thing inthe morning, just waiting for one of us to walk out that door. If you walk out the door without anything in your hands that will impede slapping and killing them, you can kill quite a few rather quickly.

I don't like wearing insect repellent, but it does work. So, in order to get some of the benefit of wearing it, I spray it on my clothing, including my gardening hat and gloves but not on my skin. I hate smelling like OFF, but I think I'd hate having West Nile or Zika even more. It's going to be a long summer, I guess.
