I found out where Norma Lewis is, a retirement home. I will go see her there soon. I bought some of her plants donated to the society sale table:

There was also a presentation of Dudleya, another of my preferred species, with large photos showing different species from different areas of California & Baja and of course some beautiful rare live, staged plants. There were so many people at this show, just after opening time no parking! Drought tolerant plants are becoming very popular in California.

How fun! Wish I was there, well, maybe not, I know I would have spent many$$$ lol. I probably would have oooh'd and aww'd out loud. You seem to have great luck with finding everything I want!

I have several of the NOID in the third pic from the bottom. Had them a few years and they are really putting out pups this year. It was in a box of sans that I bought from the swap meet a few years ago. All the sans were just thrown in a box without soil. I took a chance. There are still several that are unidentified.

Oh, great, I'm so glad to hear you have the same plant - if I run across any possible ID (like in the Sans Journal archives) I'll let you know. I'm happy to hear they are making pups for you, how exciting.

I didn't spend all that much money considering how many plants I came away with because the LACS society table prices were very fair (what looks like pearsonii and hallii were $10 ea, the little NOIDs $5 ea) nor were the fischerii (I ended up with 2 of those, one with 4 leaves, very tall and the other has a nice full pot, shorter leaves but lots of contrasting banding as they look when young).

I haven't had that much fun at a plant show in a long time, I wore myself out. There are 3 more local shows coming up over the summer, plus one maybe a couple hours away with 20 vendors (not sure I can handle that many!).

I also found out there is a local specialty nursery not far from me that sells cactus & succulents, pots, rocks, supplies for collectors and he has Sans too.

When it rains it pours! I feel like Katrina finding that nursery with all those Sans.

You all are so fortunate to have access to these amazing plants! That looks like a great show NextO! I'm so glad you had so much fun. Please keep posting photos of your journeys. So much fun to see!

A great set of pictures! Thank you! In the second photo, there is a shorter wider plant in the background. Any idea what it is called?

If it's the photo above, the tallest leaf and the widest are both masoniana, in front is Lillian True (mislabelled as laurentii for some reason, maybe a last minute substitute?).

Yesterday, I noticed in one of the smaller plants I bought were leaves that didn't "match" the others and found it was a rhizome with a few roots and one rosette just laying on top, probably suffruticosa or the like, now in it's own pot.

Thanks for the info. I'm trying to find a source for the shorter/wider leaf. Other than pictures...is there a more specific name to ask for/look for? I found this (CLICK HERE). Pictures too fuzzy to post.
Is it the same as what's in the Los Angeles Cactus & Succulent Show picture?

That's the one, Sansevieria masoniana. There are many common names e.g. Mason's Congo, whale fin, etc. Prior to this show I had no idea it could shoot up that tall.

Lillian True is a cultivar of laurentii. So it is a laurentii as well. Thanks for the great pictures and So sorry to hear about Norma. But hope she is getting all the proper care she deserves.

Wow what a neat show and love the detailed descriptions! Thank you for sharing!! Sorry to hear about Norma too! She welcomed me into the Yahoo Sans group years ago and sent me a hahni 'Silver Frost' at the time. I hope she still has a few Crassula and Sans with her at the home.
