Steve, does it taste any good?

I have not gotten any fruit yet. My thoughts are I can't buy them in any store so I might as well grow them. I can buy any orange grapefruit, lemon or lime so why grow them. I am also growing Meiwa kumquats because they taste good and can't be bought.

I desperately want one of these. I called Four winds about a week ago and they said they did not know when they'd have more. Vladimir, we will have to wait....

Wonder when Four Winds willrenew their stock , they barely have anything available and no 3yr plants at all . Mar - May I expected them to be busy with their retail nurseries but its June and still no inventory online

I'm starting to think they don't graft their own trees.

Water is so expensive there that they can only afford to get trees from a mass grafter and grow them agresively for a half year to be sold as 1 year olds.

But California is quarantined, the supplier doesn't exactly have cheaper water.

I'm pretty sure they graft their own trees, but I think they don't do it year round. They grow on a yearly crop schedule so if they're out this year you will probably have to wait until next year.

They grow the grafts inside in a greenhouse and then transfer them outside to screened-in shade houses. I believe they have at least 3 growing grounds far away from each other. And they're developing another larger, state-of-the-art facility in a very sparsely populated part of the state, mostly in response to HLB. They take that threat very seriously.

Unfortunately for mail order customers, they supply most of the state's retail stores and that's the bigger part of their business and so probably takes precedence.

Only reason I moved. Same complex just south facing with a patio. Same price but smaller. Worth it though.
