to be plotting and planning my garden already when my bid on a house hasn't even been accepted yet? LOL!

This is the *third* house we bid on since February, so I'm not holding my breath I'll get this one - it's a frenzy over here, houses going above asking, selling within a day or two. Sigh. I'm still somewhat lamenting not getting the first one, it was my favorite so far. But I was working outside today, finally getting around to finishing the planting of annuals (only a bit more to do...), I have been digging and potting stuff up as I went thinking hmmm....I will have a big woodland garden at this place, I can take this with me. I really shouldn't be planning yet - guess that marks me as a true gardener huh?

How can you not? All the house stuff is so contingent on chance but you can take control of the creative process for a garden because it will always be an ongoing, perpetual thing and so much of our hopes are already invested forwards anyway. More especially, the sun is shining and plants are, once again, a reality, instead of an invisible root or a tiny seed. so of course you are planning ahead.

You're not crazy at all (at least in regards to the gardening mania, you may be nuttier than a snickers bar as far as everything else goes!)

I tend to imagine what I'd do if a neighbor asked for advice on their property. Surprisingly no one has ever asked (yet), but I've got 1, 5, and 15 year plans worked up in my head for several of the nicer properties around here :)

Didn't get the house. That's 3 for 3 we didn't get. I'm feeling very discouraged (and, frankly - irritated!) over this - finally have the money and life in order to move and can't get a house, I find what I like and poof! it's gone, even when I've bid $$$ over asking . It's been 4 months. What am I going to do with all these plants I've dug? And I really miss having a dog, DH won't let me even get a new pooch until I move. Sigh. (the blue funk will pass, bear with me and give it a day or two...)

Yes, I will. Sure helps to have sprinklers. I don't think I have enough room in the garage to over-winter them, though - unless I stack them, that might work. (Gee whiz, I hope I find a house by THEN! LOL!)

Sorry to hear you didn't get this house. What a hot market it must be where you're looking! Having to put your plants on hold as well as getting a new dog would make me feel discouraged, too. Hang in there. You're making such an effort that it has to happen. Keep on dreaming about your new gardens!
