Need to redo kitchen

I live in a loft and need to redo the kitchen area, need some help do not know where to start. I would like to keep the cabinets either whit or grey but do not know if I can just resurface. Also is stainless steel still in or white or bla k appliances? Also quartz or granite and what kind of back splash

It's hard to say without knowing more about your style preferences and budget, but if traditional is your thing then this classic small kitchen by Brooklyn Limestone is one of my all time favourites,

Stainless Steel appliances are still very much in and I do not see them disappearing anytime soon! Resurfacing and painting your cabinets is also very popular right now. There are several articles online that can help and I'm sure if you need more help, you can always consult a professional. Choosing your backsplash should wait until you have painted your cabinets and have chosen what counter top you want. Then, you can choose a backsplash to go with both and a new paint color for the kitchen, if you want one.

Since it appears you have frameless cabinets, you could simply order replacement doors for your cabinets, new counters and replace the cooktop with SS. Or not. There's nothing wrong with your cabinets. You could just change everything around them.

I would just get modern white/silver barstools and clear off the countertops.
