I planted some oriental lilies two years ago with great results last year. Most of them came back this year and they seem to be doing great. Some of them are growing as tall as 5 feet! Most plants have one leading stem with buds on them, but then there are those smaller stems (about 6 inches tall) that seem to grow from the base (see picture below). Will those grow into the full plant? Should I cut them off to divert energy towards the main stem?
