I want to make a hypertufa pot. What can I use if I don't use Portland? I only need a small amount.

Without the Portland ( the cement), it won't hold together. I am not sure what you would mean by not including the Portland.

Kim, click on the link. There is discussion on FAQ about using Sand Mix ( Portland and Sand) which is sold in a smaller bag (60lb) vs. straight Portland Cement (90lb). It makes for a slightly heavier container, but if you are just starting out and not sure you want 90lbs of Portland Cement, it is worth a try. I have occasionally seen smaller bags of Portland cement, but the prices was always high. One word of caution, do not buy broken bag of Portland, trying to save $$. You do not know how long the bag has been open, and open bag can become hard or lumpy.
