What exactly is the 'mulch'? Also a purchased product? What is it made of?

In the meantime, just to mention a few things... When growing in containers, you'll want to look towards 'potting' soils and mediums. 'Top soils' are far too heavy for container use. The can be amended to make them lighter, but its doubtful that just 'mulch' would accomplish that task.

You said that you added lime and gypsum to counteract blossom rot. Blossom rot (BER), isn't necessarily caused by a lack of calcium in the medium (soil). Rather, it is an effect caused by an inefficiency of watering and mineral uptake.

I think that the soil was too heavy and the plant had trouble utilizing calcium. It's a common problem in containers. Containers dry out quickly, and watering is often inconsistent.

If you added a lot of lime (perhaps too much), pH problems can easily cause fruiting issues.

I think, since it's still somewhat early in the season, you might think about carefully transplanting again. Remove the plant from the container. gently knock off the soil from the roots, and put it back into the container using a potting soil.

You can keep it going as it is, but if the lime did indeed throw off the pH, it will be a challenge to bring it back in balance. If it is a pH problem, maybe adding a touch of vinegar to the water can help, but this assumes pH issues and is nowhere near a perfect solution to the problem.

A 'complete' soluble fertilizer, balanced for flowering or fruiting plants, can help provide sufficient nutrients and minerals. :-)
