Mine rooted. The fruit we're halfway grown already

You can root green cuttings, especially if you take them from the tree yourself and start rooting immediately. I wouldn't recommend trying to root them if they have been in the US mail system on a cross country trip.

The stem was from last year, it was brown not really new growth. I'm just curious if I screwed it up by pulling the leaves off. Would you start it indoors to root or outside? Currently it's in a Scotts potting soil mixed 50/50 with perlite, in a clear cup covered with a plastic Baggie for humidity....sitting on my windowsill getting indirect sunlight.

So it's still dormant? Should be fine. Just don't let that soil get too wet. Figs will rot in wet soil. Damp is the best.

Next time, leave one or two leaves and the baby will root faster ;)
