Good suggestion and I tend to agree. We have seen several pics on Houzz, however, that seem to have about the same proportion of glass to gap. Also a couple in which the shower head is right at the gap, instead of tucked back behind the glass!

yes 36" of glass is exactly what we have. while we get a few spatters out we dont get puddles. the important thing is the depth of the shower. ours is 48" which puts the shower head 24" from the front walls. yours will only be an inch different you are fine.

a standard bath tub is only 28" deep (from the back wall) which puts the shower head less than a foot from the curtain/glass. a very different situation.

Thank you very much. I should have been clearer that our shower head is on the shorter 45" wall and not the longer 66" wall. Is your shower on the longer wall?

Probably doesn't answer your question, but we tilt the shower head slightly away from the glass and toward the wall. Makes for a much drier floor.
