Cleaning laminate floor in kitchen

Have a 3 yr. old remodeled kitchen with laminate sheet flooring. Best cleaning method? Cleaning lady used vinegar water; set a steel bar stool on wet floor, left RUST circle. Help!

So the rust stain is permanent...which means you can ignore it and continue on with your day. Secondly the appropriate floor cleaner is always a pH neutral floor cleaner that states "good for laminates" on the bottle. If you have a cleaning lady, you might want to tell her to leave her concoctions in the car and use only what you provide (this stops weird things from happening).

Then the application of cleaner = spray the mop head very lightly (microfibre mop head is your best option/friend for surfaces like this) and push around until the floor has been damp mopped. Cleaners are used once every 2 weeks or so. The rest is dusting/sweeping/vacuuming. Laminate does NOT like water/wet. Anything that has high water content (like water:vinegar) will cause early "death" to laminate. That's why laminates are not recommended in kitchens.

And the coups d'etat = laminate in a kitchen has an average life span of 3-7 years.

No water on laminate floors should be used, use Bona or any other spray for cleaning laminate floors, trying to remove hat stain might ruin the laminate . I hope that you have some extra pieces available in case you need to replace it. Get some pads for your stools .

A Mr Clean magic eraser should take the rust stain off. Also, vinegar is very harsh on laminate. I know that every Mommy Blogger or cleaning blog swears by it, but it is horrible for laminate floors.

You said you have laminate sheet flooring. What is that product? Usually laminate comes in planks, to resemble hardwood. This is something new to me.

I have found Bona to leave a film residue on floors so I would not recommend it.

I too have never heard of sheet laminate for floors.....my 10 year old kitchen floor is plank laminate and I clean it by first sweeping and then using vinegar and water (mixed in a spray bottle) on a small area and then mop it with terrycloth on a Swifter. Then go over it with a dry Swifter. I have always heard you should not use steam on laminate plank flooring but maybe with sheet laminate you can.
