Keep the brick and as mentioned paint the siding painted brick is a forever job as it does not last and bricks need to breathe

Cool house! I'd consider doing a dark grey on the trim with a lighter grey on the body of the house. Use cedar posts to replace the metal rails with either steel cables or cedar horizontal rails. I'd also eliminate the storm door and either paint your existing door or replace it and paint fun color like a chartreuse green. Replacing the existing landscaping with grasses and some cleaner plantings will help as well. Good luck with your project!

You can stain the brick. That requires almost no maintenance. This brick and frame house had its brick 'stained' instead of painted.

You have a good start with the plan to remove the iron grates & porch rails. Bring up MCM exteriors on Houzz to get good ideas for landscaping & colors too. Do not paint the brick as others have also suggested. Terrazzo floors are wonderful & when polished properly will sing.

Do simplify the landscaping.

Since the brick is in strips and the siding goes under it and around the house, I would paint the brick in a heartbeat to match the siding . . .especially in florida where extreme cold is not going to spall my painted brick.. One consistent color on the facade will do a lot for you here. She's a beauty . and I like the color block idea of taking the recess in a tonal direction . .maybe darker though instead of lighter .. . two shades of gray .. the red roof is the only other thing . . consider the tone of red when you find your gray . . not a blue gray or you will have patriotic house .. many straight grays will go blue when outdoors reflecting full light, so test test test and try at least one warmer tone of gray.

Brick staining isn't the easy task that everyone says it is. First of all your brick is dark, and the stain will never come out right. Each brick will absorb the stain differently, and not in a good way. I had light grey brick, and trying to stain it was a nightmare, and I ended up painting over it. I live in the north and we had 2 horrible winters since I've painted and the paint still looks great.
