Those of us who attended the recent plant swap in Gadsden were fortunate. Especially so if you were able to walk away with one of Kenneth's beloved caudiciforms, some of which were labeled and some not. No fault on Kenneth's behalf - he didn't plan on dying. His sister, Betty, was very gracious in offering those of us in attendance the plants Kenneth loved so much - some rare and endangered in the wild.

He purchased at least some of these online from a nursery by the name of "miles2go.com". All were purchased from sources that DID NOT collect from the wild. I was able to use that site, and others, to get an ID on most of the plants that were adopted that day. If I have mistakenly ID'd any of them please feel free to make corrections.

Again, a big "Thank You!" to Kenneth's sister Betty, who made the decision to share Kenneth's plants with his many friends who attended the Central Alabama Plant Swap.

Adenium, or desert rose, not that uncommon).

The base of Petopentia natalensis (also referred to as Fockea natalensis). This one needs part-shade and very moist soil during the Summer growing months.

I realize this picture is sideways - just adjust your head accordingly! It is Ibervillea lindheimeri, a SW native. Loves to climb in lean, dry, gritty soil. God bless it ;-)

Last but not least, the plant with my favorite name: Euphorbia capsaintemariensis! Try engraving that on a name tag!

At the end of this day, I am glad to have shared this info with my GW friends, especially those who were fortunate enough to know Kenneth and who now are caregivers to the plants he cherished so much.
