Help with identification

I just ran into these at our local Home Depot. They are very similar to Curcuma alismatifolia but the difference is that they are over 36" tall (from the soil level). The leaves are not as sword like either. Label said Heliconia which it is obviously is not! Anyone know what they are? Thanks Sorry I can't figure out how to post the picture.

Lowes and Home Depot begin carrying Heliconia Psittacorums this time of year along the Gulf Coast. They are very similar in appearance to Curcuma Alismatifolia and the blooms can stand very tall above the plant. Most of those colors are orange, red, yellow, or variations. Most of the Alismatifolia I've seen are in the pink or white color range. What color are the blooms on those.

The blooms on these are the dark pink and the very pale pink/white that I see on the alismatifolia. We don't typically see any Heliconias for sale here (Hilton Head, SC) as very few are hardy in this location. The blooms look identical to the alismatifolia just taller and larger circumference.

Well then you're right. I didn't know where you're located. If they are tulip shaped, then they are Alismatifolia

There are some very tall hybrids floating around the Home Depot stores.

I just googled both C.allismatifolia and H.psittacorums. Two very different looking plants! Both fabulous plants tho

McLendons (Lowes like hardware and garden centers in PNW) had Hedychium 'Dr Moy' and 'Elizabeth' this fall. Both are excellent varieties. I have them planted and mulched protected.
