Can you post a couple of pictures of your setup and the plants? Hard to say definitively but using anything in containers that is not labeled "potting soil" or "potting mix" is like starting with one hand tied behind your back. Normal soil in containers can lead to soil compaction, root rot, oxygen starvation, and make the plants weaker and more susceptible to disease and pest damage. Pale green can mean too much water. Can also mean lack of nutrients. What kind of fertilizer? Is it meant specifically for container plants? Is this a true green house with built-in ventilation or one of the shelves with a clear plastic cover?

My guess would be overwatering. But I grow mostly in the ground and don't have any experience with greenhouse growing.

Since this seems to be a general problem with all your plants in the greenhouse, maybe you should ask the folks in the Container Gardening subforum? They will know stuff there that general gardeners may not know.

Brendan, nothing wrong with asking here. It's just that the container forum will have more people used to dealing with problems that arise from growing in containers.

Great that all sounds pretty much bang on. We didn't know drug difference in potting soil! Lesson learnt! Any solutions for the soil itself? Could we repot them again and try to ditch as much old soil or just try to make do with the current situation? We will definitely try to do the bottom watering. The containers (I think) aren't the best for it and some are pretty heavy but it definitely wouldn't hurt to try .

You could just sacrifice one, empty the contents and see whether it's a soupy mess lower down. To increase drainage, you could try drilling more holes in the sides.......even tilting the containers will result in some extra drainage.
