We put in a window seat today in our kitchen. I bought the counters last year and apparently didn't remember the sizes. We made a 2x4 base assuming the cabinets were 15 inch cabs. They were actually 18 in once we took them out of the boxes. At that point my wonderful father in law (he is a carpenter and was helping us) said we could back track or keep going knowing it would be high. We debated but then decided to keep going basically due to just trying to get it done. Definitely a mistake. It's approx 22 inches now and feels super high. My question is should we live with it or should we talk with him about taking it out, removing the base and rebuilding it. I hate to bother him again, but am really not sure about the height! If there's any way to work with it, I'd rather do that than bug him. All thoughts appreciated! Also it looks bad now, but will be all painted white:)
