I'm not actually sure if this is the best category to post in, but here goes: We live close to a busy street, and I'm wanting to plant a hedge/fence line (preferably evergreen) on the side of our yard so the street isn't visible from our front porch/windows. The issues are, though, we have heavy clay soil, and I've got only got a nine foot wide row to plant, which is in between a sewer line and the neighbor's yard. Full sun. I'm wanting it to look more natural, rather than a row of thuja Green Giants, or something. I know there are lots of creative and far more knowledgeable folks than myself on here, so I'm curious to see what ideas you all have.
