Shutters are totally Inappropriate on that house. Remove them.

Shutters should at least appear to be functional. That means large enough to actually cover the windows. Yours are much too small to be functional. They are comically inappropriate.

It's a really nice house. I think Sophie means the shutters aren't sized correctly. They should be in proportion to the window. In other words, if actually functional, they would cover the window when closed. It looks like most of the windows don't allow the space for the right size shutters. That being said, most shutters I see aren't the right size, and/or are added to something like a bay window which is really pointless (and also makes them "shudders"). I think you should just go with what you like.

Just really love the colonial style and what appears to be a woodsy setting. Lots of value here in Southern CA!

The right dark green in your setting would look great with the roof and the color. Love your door!
