Looks like the reverting 'Mt Vernon' seen some places here. Anywhere this species is half as weedy as it is here its planting should be discontinued.

When homeowners ask for a plant to screen out the neighbor the answer they get is either Leyland cypress or arborvitae. I would recommend 'Parkway' instead. Am aware of invasive potential as seen here and UK.

As for 'Otto Luyken' which is planted around every supermarket parking lot, no thanks.

BLE = Broad-Leaved Evergreen

We don't often see the large-leaved Prunus laurels here because of hardiness issues. I've not known them to be invasive here in Mid-Atlantic, even though my Skip Laurels are loaded with seed.

I did find ONE seedling come up near my Otto Luyken, but I don't see any in the woods.

Sam do you know if this is as susceptible to white scale as Otto Luyken?

The type,laurocerasus, is fully hardy here in england (zone 8/9)
