Aphids!

Hey there! I'm a beginner gardener in the NYC area growing some flowers and edibles on my balcony. I've had a much larger issue with aphids this year than I would have imagined (I live on the sixth floor, so I was surprised to see any garden pests in my containers.) I've started using an organic pesticide to control them, after they totally destroyed my lettuce plant in a single day. (Before the pesticide I tried a homemade dish soap spray, no dice.) I'm still seeing them popping up, particularly on my mini eggplant, so I'm wondering if there is anything else I can do to control these guys, and remedy some of their damage? My patio tomato plant is looking pretty sad, and my zucchini and cucumber aren't doing as well as I would like either. Nothing is completely dead, but there is some visible damage (curling and yellow leaves, some black spots, and I've had to remove a lot of dead foliage and stems.) Any help to make my tiny garden healthy again would be awesome!
