Replacing Kitchen Floor - HELP, What color, size and design?

I am going to replace my ceramic floor in my narrow kitchen. I have wood cabinets, SS appliances and tropic brown granite. I am taking out the slate floor in my tiny foyer to match my kitchen to make it consistent. I need help picking out a tile. Any suggestions on size, color and pattern are welcomed. Thank you for any ideas.
