Is there a better time of year/season for starting N. alata cuttings? I've done this several times in the past, usually when giving the parent plant a 'haircut' because it has grown so large, but the last time the cuttings just didn't 'take'. Same mix of orchid bark, long-fiber sphagnum peat, and perlite for a growing medium, cuttings dipped in rooting hormone, all kept moist with rainwater...just no root development seen in the autopsy....
