Stumped on layout ideas for kitchen addition/renovation

Hi! We just bought a 1930s colonial. We're putting on an addition to extend the kitchen and my husband is driving himself crazy with trying to figure out the best layout. We have a small powder room bathroom that is a really annoying spot, and while we know moving it would make design easier, we're trying to figure out if there's a reasonable way to do it without moving it.

A friend told me to come here- that you all are the best. :)

Our current set up and dimensions:

We are taking down the addition (it was not built to code by the original owners) and rebuilding that as well as pushing the kitchen out to the same distance (so the back wall of the house will be flat). We are getting rid of the side door and there will be a back door/entry that will be our family's main entrance.

Priorities are counter space and storage, a place for me to "dump my junk" as my husband says, and good light. (the current bay windows are facing west and get nice afternoon light)

This is what's anticipated with the new addition- no counters, appliances, or new walls shown.

Any ideas or suggestions you have would be helpful!

Can you please post a bigger version? We cannot read the #s on the "new" space. What's the scale? (1 square = ??")

Since this is all new build in the Kitchen addition, can windows and doors be placed "anywhere" and be "any" size?

Is the above layout the entire floor?

If so, I assume the Family/Living Room is where the fireplace is.

What's in the addition space (above the Kitchen)?

Is the back door location you show on the new space flexible? Is there a garage & garage entrance there?

Do you have a basement below the main part of the house? Under the old addition?

Will there be a basement under the rebuilt addition and the Kitchen addition?

They're pushing back 11 feet. So it's 11 feet past the little lip there on the wall. Each small square is 6" if I remember right.

We do have a basement, and they are digging down to add basement space under the kitchen and the addition re-do. (actually started yesterday.)

The image is the whole first floor, and yes the living room is where the fireplace is. The plan is to open up a large arched entry between the living room and the addition (right now it's only accessible through a door next to the bathroom.) The previous owners used the addition as a small family room to watch TV. So far, we're just storing our junk in it. ;)

Windows and new doors, including the back, are flexible, but it has to be on the back- the town didn't like that it was on the side originally.
