Monkey do you feed your plants VIAGRA?

Bill in CA

Just beautiful!

Jane

That spike it amazing! I am sure it gives a nice little dance when the breeze hits it. It does not look like the spike is staked. Is that correct?

It is kinda staked. I moved the stem to get hung up on the wires. I dare not move the plant by myself until the bloom is done.

Any chance it could be encycla rufa?, did get it from Ruben? (ruben in orchids aka RIO)

nice plant none the less, I remember buying the rufa from Ruben at tamiami irchid festival a few years back...

Here is a comparison

Hi Ben, Enc. rufa x Enc. profusa equals Enc. Ruffle Profuse. We had Ruben speak to us several years back. I believe he is now in South America. A great source of information before he left...

Thanks for feedback Harvey, I guess Claudia (hs wife) convinced Ruben that the orchid business would do better in Colombia... I remember visiting Dr Ruben Sauleda's (RIO) nursery when his Mom and Dad were running it, kinda of a junkyard, but they did have some very nice plants, many of his flasks went to Sun Bulb in Arcadia and then to Home Depot via Sun Bulb orchid bags. He is very knowledgeable on many species... another sad loss for the south florida orchid world...
