Weed or vegetable?

I planted my first vegetable garden this summer (in Massachusetts) and thought these were vegetables for the first couple weeks but now have realized

they're spread out across all the beds and very likely a weed (and every time I do a Google search for pictures of a weed with dark spots, I just Marijuana results!). Thanks in advance for any help!
