Dolce Blackcurrant is one of my favourite purples.

Obsidian is my favorite purple. stayed dark purple all 3 seasons while most of other purple ones change to brown/bronze color in the summer. Not sure about the sun exposure in your bed, although most purple ones prefer at least some sun. some of mine are in full sun and some are in partial sun, all are happy.

Vivian, what do you think of the flowers Obsidian produces? My areas will have full sun and part sun.

Does Obsidian become more purple with more sun exposure?

Obsidian's blooms are not very big and impressive. The flowers are better with more sun.

Yes, the leaf color is even darker with more shade.

Another one of my favorite purple is Frosted Violets. This one is in full sun, blooms are tall and much more impressive. This one grows taller and bigger than Obsidian, but color is not as darker.

Both Obsidian and Frosted Violet are treated as sun perennials in my gardens (that means they are neglected most of time as I need to tend to my shade loving plants::). But they don't mind at all.

My Dolce "Blackberry Ice" is without a doubt the best heuchera I've owned to date. It is not totally purple, but purple prevails as the main color. I just bought it this spring, so I cannot report on how it does through the winter. But I do like "Obsidian" too.

I purchased "Forever Purple" this year. Anyone have experience witht that one?

Also, I think I'll have to look for Dolce "Blackberry Ice". People seem to love it.

I also bought forever purple this year. So far colour is is holding up. A nice dark winey purple with almost black veins.

Still rather fond of Amethyst Myst
