I had Cabico cabinets (Quebec) that I was pleased with. I just re-did my kitchen and went with a local custom shop but the people that bought my Cabico cabinets are thrilled! They are still in excellent condition. I also had Hawthorne Kitchens (Winnipeg) in a previous home and loved them. I looked at Kitchen Craft (not Kraft) also out of Winnipeg, but wasn't as impressed with their quality. HTH.

There are a handful of Amish cabinet makers in northern Indiana, I've heard rumors of them being more affordable than big box semi-custom lines. If you do RTA, be careful of what you chose. I did them 5.5 years ago on our house (that we thought would be a rental by now) even though they have the 'features' of the pricey lines and lots of key words like dovetail joints and soft close, they are just not holding up and they scream cheap these days.

Good Golly! We have RTA cabinets from The Cabinet Joint and they are beautiful. I certainly have not had the experience as the above poster. My husband is an engineer and woodworker and he says they are just as nice as his parents custom made Amish ones (those are 40 years old and still look like new). We had originally decided he would make them, but I got tired of waiting- job tripled his traveling recently. I have been thrilled with everything we have gotten from them.

I have heard foreign RTA are a different story; however, I do not have any experience with them.
