Help for small Mexican Fan Palm, Please?

Hello!
I planted two small, gallon pot mexican fan palms from home depot last year. One of them started off very healthy, but by this spring it wasn't looking so good. I waited just to see if it would perk back up but it ended up dying. Since they were planted as a pair, I decided to transplant the other palm to a different location... this one was thriving! Full frawns, doing very well when I dug it up. It stands about two feet tall. I was very careful with the roots. Watered regularly after transplanting as it has been very hot and humid here in Southern Louisiana. Slowly some of the frawns drooped and eventually they all did .... It had one new leaf sticking straight up in the middle and a smaller one just in front of it. However it has been in that same state ever since with no progress. I didn't fertilize when I transplanted because I had used a bit of the Palm soil (I think its Miracle Grow brand) when I transplanted.
Is there anything I can do for this little palm or is it too late at this point?
Any help would be very much appreciated.
