New house needs identity

I'm struggling to come up with an "identity" for my new house. It was built in 1930 and we are on a small farm. We have a huge front porch with porch swing. There is lots of curb appeal, and that's where the character ends. Everything inside is bland and boring and a bit choppy. What style should I give this house?

The farmhouse has a modern edge going with the different roof designs and two tone siding palette. So I would run with the "modern farm" genre.

As you can see rustic elements mix with industrial while still keeping this kitchen bright and minimalistic. I think you will have a wonderful home when these types of details are brought into your interiors. Good luck!

I was thinking along the farm rustic look too.

But really if u want a certain look inside then u should go with whatever style You like. The inside is what ur looking at all day so u want to be comfortable in the space. Good luck n enjoy! :)

House is charming, but the landscaping in front is not very good. Those evergreens need to go. They make the home look very dated. Change to to serpentine borders of perennials.

For the interiors you can do a contemporary farmhouse with board and batten walls and lots of white. See below.

Love all the advice! And BeverlyFLADeziner is spot on about the landscaping. I would add that if you do take on the yard, a "fireglow" Japanese maple would be stunning. They stay small so the scale would work with your beautiful house to compliment it, not over power it. Mine is 15-18 years old. Pics are a bit dark. Best of luck with your endeavors!
