Bathroom design help

Looking for a little help in bathroom design. Left is our current layout. Shower is in an alcove with supply on the small wall that comes out. We'd like to open it up and make it bigger because we primarily use the shower. Would it look weird to do a 60" shower length next to the vanity like pictured? I'd like that wall to be glass.

Trying to do this all on a budget, so trying to keep drains/supplies in the same location. Still thinking about how best to change the tub area to incorporate more storage.

Where is the door? Are you removing the tub? If so, what are you putting in that spot?

The door is opposite the vanity in the middle of the room. For the tub, I'm leaning towards a small corner tub going in the bottom right corner, with a continuation of the vanity (med cabinet? ) along the outside wall. Currently, there is about 21x43 of dead space in the corner because of the tub surround.

Should also mention there is a window in the middle of the wall on the bottom, around 42" wide

I would do like I did in my condo I just sold and switch the tub and shower locations. Or if you never use the tub, I'd make the vanity longer and put the shower across where the tub was. That will give you a really nice sized shower.

That is a great idea from cpartist. Switch the tub and shower location. You could even have a double shower in the new location if the budget allowed. I would recommend trying to keep the tub from a resale point of view as it gives one full master bath.
