I like roses that can come back strong after having their top growth die, imagine what they would be like if you could get it to go dormant before winter.

You really have yourself some very fine roses and this one looks to be beautiful both in flower and foliage.

I'm thinking of trying to hybridize one day, the vigor on Turbo is so amazing I'd like to give it a try using this rose.

Perhaps Turbo x Prairie Peace?

I think I will try harder to get it to go into dormancy this year. It was really lush and green at the end of last year, the only rose which was like that out of my collection.

I am interested to see if it sets hips or not. Some other ideas I had included crossing this with a fragrant rose such as Therese Bugnet, Blanc de Double Coubert, Morden Sunrise or Cuthbert Grant.

That is such a unique rose you have bred Twors! I love the ruffled centre and the white striped petals! Foliage is very nice too!

I've planted some hips set by bees before, but with no luck. After I read the book from the rose hybridizer association I learned I was not supposed the let the hips sit on the plant until spring.

I'll probably try to save some hips again, this time before winter. It'll be interesting to see if Turbo sets hips or not. I know my Winnipeg Parks sets hips for sure, I might give that a try as well. I have some wild roses too which might make an interesting cross. Or perhaps Turbo x Rugelda. With all the varieties I have, the combinations seem limitless!

The vigor of Turbo is really outstanding but it lacks fragrance. It would be neat to create a fragrant monster.

Perhaps it time to do some planning and research on lineages on helpmefind.

To add to my fondness of Turbo: last year it was crowding and directly touching John Cabot. John, and most of my non-rugosa roses, ended up with severe blackspot. Turbo ended the season with only one or two leaves with spots, out of a very full bush.
