Embroidery Machine

Hello! I'm looking for an embroidery machine for small projects, like monogramming. Nothing really fancy! I make stuffed animals and dolls and I would like to have an embroidery machine to embroider kid's names or initials on the stuffed animals. What would you recommend? I like Brother machines. I read some reviews of Brother PE770, Brother SE400, Bother PE540D, Brother PE525. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you!

I bought a Brother SE400 also and it came with a thick user manual which explains both sides of the machine (Sewing and Embroidery). Do you have a machine already? Many have alphabets in the decorative stitches.

I have a Brother PC-8500 (I think that's its model name) combo sewing/embroidery machine. It's about 14 years old, so OLD technology LOL, but it's worked great for all these years.

I got a Brother PE770 in February this year and I love it.

I have the Brother SE400. It has been a workhorse of a machine, doing commercial sewing. But I have yet to figure out how to use the embroidery part. It comes with no instructions. So be prepared for that.

Becky, my Brother came with a thick manual - yours didn't? Mine also has on-screen help for all its functions.

No, it only came with a couple of thin ones as well as a CD. They mostly explain the sewing functions and barely touch on the embroidery/monogram functions.
