Zone 7a, northern Utah btw

Most all "wild flowers" are also classified as "weeds" depending on where they grow. Also cultivated flowers can be "weeds" if they are growing where they are not wanted. For example there is a "Rosa Rugosa" growing in a Lilac clump so that rose is a "weed" since I do not want it there.

Where was the "wild flower" mix bought from? Some sources do not actually sell true "wild flower" mixes.

Hi kimmq, I purchased it from American Meadows and have had tremendous success with the mix overall. Our flowerbeds and planters look incredible. I just can't figure out what this particular plant is. I've looked through all the mixes we purchased and I can't match its appearance to anything said to be in the mix. And like I said, I can't match the appearance to anything shown on the extension's site.

Epazote? Dysphania ambrosioides. Was called Chenopodium ambrosioides formerly.

peren.all Here's a better picture that shows the buds. The pictures I'm seeing of Epazote don't have the same central budding.

The morphology of the buds is inconsistent with that which Epazote typically exhibits.

I think I found it: toothed spurge.

Yes that looks right, Euphorbia dentata - Toothed spurge. A new one for me.
