Thank you, BRC. I'm having a heck of a time. Both Anew Gray and Amazing Gray seem a little too brown to me, and maybe it's my imagination, but even they seem to cast bluish in some lights. I'm looking for a "gold" gray that's not too green. Now I'm leaning toward SW Analytical Gray, but that takes on a kind of nasty "putty" color in certain lights, or BM Northern Cliffs, which is also a little too brown. Sadly, my perfect color is the shade of SW Mindful Gray I get about 10 percent of the time. I wish the light didn't play such havoc. I can't get over the way Mindful Gray looks beautifully tan on one wall and utterly blue on another at the exact same second. Grays are tough!

Have you thought about doing 2 different colors in the room. Mindful Gray on the walls that you like and maybe a darker color as an accent wall that is giving you trouble. Like a Functional Gray SW7024 or Dorian Gray SW7017.

Thank you for the excellent suggestion. In my case, the room is so small and the light so fickle, I'm not sure it would work. Today I took the plunge, bought a gallon of the Anew Gray, and texted the painter that I was ready. It looks great on the chip, but so did the Mindful. We shall see. Thanks again for the input!

Hi, BRC. Anew was still too blue/green. I wound up having the painter go over it with SW Balanced Beige, and it's perfect. I love it every day. Thanks for the follow-up.
