Last fall I noticed a volunteer Sunburst Maple in my yard, it was in a terrible place, so I had planned to try transplanting it once I found/designated a place in my yard for it. I'm not sure if it still qualifies as a seedling. It's about a foot tall.

Today I went to go check the mail and noticed someone had pulled it! I'm really upset, I was very attached to that tiny tree. I'm not sure how long it has been out of the ground, the the leaves are dry and crunchy but not brown.

For now I stuck it in some water, until I can figure out if I can even save it. Is there anything I can do?
