Mostly am choosing darker colors to avoid staining with 2 little boys using the bath. Do you think I could get away with a lighter grout?

On the picture they look almost the same. One looks brown the other grey - but I think in depth they are about the same - so unless you see a marked difference this might be a moot point.

If you use Fusion grout - by custom building products - it will NOT stain. You also don't have to seal it!! It's much more expensive than regular grout, but you won't regret using it! Prism is another alternative, but you'll still have to seal that..."regular" grout as a last resort...

I personally would not pick that tile for my clients. If that is one you really love I guess I would match the tops.

The grout sample on the left looks a bit softer.

Have you ever thought of black grout? it is so classic and timeless...

Thanks for the insight! We went with a higher quality grout in a lighter taupe. This isn't my dream tile choice, but it was affordable for now, am waiting 4-5 years when we can totally renovate this bathroom.
