Each year I grow several varieties in eight raised beds, starting from seed in my greenhouse. Some heirloom, some hybrids. Last summer I had a volunteer pop up in a cucumber bed and just for grins I let it grow. The result was a fruit the size of golfballs, growing on a "rack" of 6-10, with cracked green shoulders and a chocolatey/pink body with bright green seed jelly, indeterminate. And absolutely delicious black tomato flavor. Since I grow blacks alongside Sungolds I assumed this was an accidental hybrid from a previous season. For the heck of it I saved a bunch of seeds (first time for that) and started them along with the rest in the spring. Lo and behold I have a bunch of these plants identical to the original one and throwing off scads of these same tomatoes. Gave a bunch of seedlings to friends and co-workers, they are getting the same thing. I love these tomatoes. What have I got?
