Sectional or sofa/loveseat combo?

Ready to order living room furniture for our new home, but I'm having difficulty finding the perfect solution.

Layout:

Basic dimensions:

left wall to far window/wall = ~14 feet
left wall to near edge of window = ~9 feet
left wall depth = ~4 feet
depth of left wall plus room divider (see below) = ~10 feet

There will be a freestanding Malm Zircon fireplace in the corner window, media center in the recess on the right wall, and a wooden room divider on the left wall that will extend approximately halfway along exposed beam. Room divider will be something along the lines of:

We want lots of comfy seating with a clean, simple style. Nothing bulky, poofy or too matchy-matchy. The sectionals I have found are either too small or too big, so I'm thinking along the lines of a sofa (along left wall) and loveseat (along back wall), but will need something comfy to put our feet up on.

Does anyone have suggestions? I'm considering the Joybird Eastwood sofa

and matching armless loveseat

I will add a pair of chairs facing the fireplace/back wall to complete the grouping.

I would LOVE to hear your suggestions!

Your house is so exciting! I am wishing I had done black interiors on the windows.

How many people do you need to seat? For us, most of the time it is 2. For a couple months it is 4. And occasionally 6. So we did a small sectional. It's great for 2 but once there's more than 6 it doesn't work as well.

Could you fit two sofas? I have always heard that a loveseat really only seats one unless the two ppl do not mind sitting pretty close.

Yes, I would do two sofas, as Atkillery9 suggests. A sectional will cut off the room too much.

I don't think I can do two sofas - it would be too close to the fireplace, unfortunately. But aktillery9 brings up such a good point about sitting too close on a loveseat.

We need to sit five daily and I'd prefer that to be in one cozy area. I was really hoping for a sectional.

If you have two chairs, a sofa and the love seat you could sit five easily!!

Your home is amazing. Those windows alone ...

We have a sofa and two chairs in our living room and a sectional with an ottoman in the tv room. The sectional is large and we can all fit comfortably (with the ottoman). The sofa can fit two (it is a big sofa but doesn't have an ottoman).

Have you ever sat on a loveseat without arms? We used to have one and we found it so uncomfortable. You couldn't lounge - always had to sit upright.

I love the look of the sofa and loveseat you've chosen, but you say you want comfy and they just don't look comfy to me.

Have you tried Lee Ind. for sectionals? They make clean lined mid sized. If you see one you like but it doesn't look like it comes as a sectional, check with a dealer. We found that they could be customized to pretty much what ever we wanted.

daisychain01 - the "another one" sectional looks just like the (very old & tired) natuzzi sectional we have now!

lily'smom - i'm a lillian's mom! it is mostly our family that will use this seating. kids are 5, 8 & 10. i find that even if i want guests to sit in the living room we always end up outside or in the kitchen anyway.
