How much more is soft? Can we see a pic of the caudex and branches? It still needs trimmed. Leave it out of the dirt. you need to have on hand, alcohol to clean the blade for each cut. You will also need cinnamon or sulphur powder to place on the wound. Once we find out where it is soft and what is left up above we can give you a better idea what is needed to be done.

You need to see no brown through the flesh just creamy even color. Good luck

You can start making more slices with the sterilized blade until you see creamy white flesh or do as Stuart says and make to trees out of it. You need to sterilize the blade each time you cut. Either way you will need to hang it up so It can try to heal. I still would cinamon or sulphur powder on the cut to keep fungus out.

Hello Sarika, glad you were able to post the new pics we needed :-) it does show that there's a lot more cutting to be done. Sometimes the site does strange things with our posts, we think we've done something, but we haven't when they do show up, but that can sometimes be several hours later! Very odd.

Anyway, back to the poor plant.....Maricas advise about using the powder and hanging it are both good. I think as you continue to cut away the bad bits, you may well end up having to cut back so much to reach clean flesh you will eventually end up with the two plants as Stuart has illustrated. I would slice portions off till you see what there is left, but be prepared to remove a lot more beyond the junction of those two main branches. Please show us the results and we will all hope for the best! Good luck :-)

What was the soil like that it was planted in? It appears to have been potted rather low down too, but not knowing what the old base looked like it's difficult to tell really, I suspect there was a bigger caudex buried though. You will hopefully need some advise on a suitable mix when the plant/s are ready for that stage, so do come back and more help will be on offer:-)
