I just put chrome in my new bath. I wanted a bit if sparkle and it was a little more affordable. It does show water faster than my brush nickel though but cleans beautifully.

You said the magic words, "cleans beautifully".

You can get an aggressive chrome cleaner and clean chrome on your car, but no way would I clean Brushed Nickel with the same approach. Chrome has proven over the years that it can be cleaned easily.

Don't get me wrong I have seen some very damaged Chrome faucets in store and restaurant restrooms where the wrong cleaner was used.

I don't think they ever went out. Timeless.

Plus they clean them every hour...

Chrome is great. Make sure it's chrome though, and not paint. Goes for any finish actually.

My Delta chrome faucet looks brand new after three years. Spots just wipe off with a cloth. I have soft water and don't know if it would be any different with hard water.

(Chrome not my personal preference, reads too cold to me, but have it all over the current place, and will have some in new.

I love very few finishes, all the others are fine. Metal is metal. I don't really get this trend thing. Do what you like. Maybe I'm just not a metal person so to say..

So glad I did chrome fixtures in my guest bath remodel. Water spots wipe right off with a soft, dry cloth. Plus there's something so honest and direct about chrome.

I've always loved chrome or polished nickel finishes. Easy to take care of it.

Another fan of chrome. For a while, it seemed people were trying to do anything BUT chrome, to avoid looking Builder Basic. But the truth of the matter is, that it truly is the best finish in terms of longevity and ease of cleaning.

Love chrome for the bath. I have had bath fixtures in brushed nickel, brass and bronze finishes. Like chrome the best, I just think it looks better with less work. As I move forward in life I want less maintenance. Of course, my entire house is brushed nickel right now.

I have all brushed nickel faucets and do not have a problem with spotting, but I do wipe them down when needed, and I wipe them without any cleaner. A lot of people like chrome, and if that is their preference, then that is what they should have - I do not think it ever went out of style. Nickel is popular because it is the same color as stainless steel, and chrome looks somewhat blue next to steel or nickel. Another finish I've seen recently that I like is the dark oil rubbed bronze, which looks almost black. Personally, I like that much better than chrome, but I'm sticking with nickel for now. Chrome is still neutral (if cold), unlike brass or gold.

Agree - chrome never went out of style and that's why I prefer it over all others.

I, too, missed the memo that it went out of style.

I finally determined why my Moen chrome fixtures look out of style. They are! But not because they are Chrome but the design of bathroom faucets has changed since I put them in 20 years ago. The handles, ultra short spouts, and shape have evolved. I will stick with chrome for the bathroom redo.

Chrome is the classic for plumbing fixtures -- like the little black dress.

I also find chrome to have a "bluish" tint, but certainly don't think it is out of style! I am confused about all of the trouble folks are having keeping brushed nickel looking nice....I have it in all baths, and they all look perfect. We've been in our house 5 years so if they were going to be a problem I would've known by now.

I agree -- I haven't had problems with chrome finish or cleaning. The other finishes -- more so.

Think it is the manufacturer. I have brushed nickel in the kitchen, Delta with a Kohler drain. No spots.

A Pfister, recommended by the plumber, is in the downstairs guest bath. Can't say I have spotting on the fixture. Guess we don't splash on it. BUT the drain cap on the pop-up drain became horrible fast. The minerals clung to the drain cap so bad we thought we would never remove it. Now we wipe any drop of water that gets on it. So a wash cloth sits on the counter just for that purpose.

We recently remodeled our Mstr Bth, and I deliberately chose chrome fixtures. I did so because I wanted some bling, and brushed nickel doesn't provide the high degree of shine that I was looking for.

We chose chrome for our bathroom remodel, it brightens up our grey palette and also because ease of cleaning and not being "trendy" were important for future resale. Chrome has always been a good option.

My fifteen year old brass faucet (that looks new) cleans up with a cloth.......I think it's all about the lacquer (or whatever it is) coating. Every metal "spots". And the cleaner used, I have used Glass Plus always and nothing else.

It was an interesting stroll down memory lane, and still kind of holds up to today, seven years alter. If only the spammy link was not there.
